ELEVATED ENTERTAINING

A KITCHEN, BAR AND FITTED FURNITURE FOR THE ULTIMATE ENTERTAINING SPACE

THE PROJECT

Our clients extended their home in Kent to create a new, open-plan entertaining area with a kitchen, bar and living area in one.

The contemporary single-storey extension tastefully contrasts the Tudor architecture of the original house, creating a fusion between period architecture and modern design. The whole property has been modernised by crisp, sharp lines throughout the interior and external landscaping, resulting in an immaculate period home with the precision of luxury modern living.

Extreme was appointed to realise the client’s design vision for the interior, with a contemporary kitchen, fitted living furniture and a statement drinks bar.

THE DESIGN

FITTED FURNITURE & JOINERY

Walking through the old part of the house, you are greeted by elegant Extreme joinery, which offers the first glimpse of what is to come. A timber framed door is hidden discreetly within the furniture, with smoked glazing revealing a preview of the new entertaining area.

Step through the door and the full impact of the space is revealed. Every detail of the environment has been executed with precision, from the ceiling details and tile lines to the contemporary Extreme bar, kitchen and fitted furniture.

DESIGN FOR OPEN PLAN LIVING

The design acknowledges the room as one environment rather than viewing the kitchen as a standalone area. Timber joinery wraps around the entire space, seamlessly transitioning between the kitchen, dining and living zones. The timber’s soft tone and strong grain accentuate the natural beauty of the wood, giving the room a calming, organic quality.

In the centre of the kitchen, the quartz island adopts an elegant, linear form with breakfast bar seating and integrated lighting. On either side, tall timber cabinetry provides functional storage and housing for the bank of Miele ovens.

THE BAR

A GLAMOROUS DRINKS BAR

The drinks bar stands out from the rest of the decor, with its dark and moody timber that creates a striking contrast between the daily living spaces and this glamorous social area. The bronze bevelled mirror feature panels enhance the sense of elegance and sophistication, a striking feature to be enjoyed day or night.

Full-height Gaggenau wine coolers provide temperature-controlled storage for wine and champagne while floating shelving on either side creates a feature of our client’s spirit collection.

ORGANIC & NATURAL DETAILS

The bar features natural quartz surfaces with delicate veining, adding subtle intrigue and movement. Unlike the kitchen with recessed handles built into the doors, the bar features Turnstyle Labyrinth handles. The handles have a three-dimensional design inspired by the geometry of nature, which reinforces the organic design language and creates a harmonious blend between natural and human-made features.
