Luxury Bespoke kitchen mural

Extreme designs do not have a calling card.  We pride ourselves in the fact that apart from the same high quality of design and workmanship, no two designs are the same.  Each room, whether a luxury bespoke kitchen, bedroom, study or library, is created specifically for the client: just as each client is unique, so is their interior.

There are many features that one can add to an interior design to make it truly unique and one such feature is that of a mural, created to the specifications of the client and painted directly onto the wall of their chosen room.

Sean O’Donnell, Designer at Extreme Buckinghamshire is an expert when it comes to creating beautiful and personalised murals.  From creating fairy-tale frescos for children’s playrooms to bringing a themed cinema room to life, Sean has produced dozens of stunning designs.

“It is extremely important to work directly with the clients from the very start,” Sean comments, “That way you have an absolutely clear vision of exactly what they’re looking for and you’re able to get to know them, their personality and style which is essential for setting the direction of the piece.  Murals are almost always a statement so my illustrations have to be exactly right, helping to enhance and enliven the chosen space with an injection of fun and personality.

“I’m often commissioned to create murals for children’s rooms with the most popular imagery being princesses for girls and superheroes for boys.  It’s great fun to create a magical and exciting world that you know will be enjoyed by the rooms’ inhabitants.

“I personally love creating underwater scenes as I have the freedom to use a beautifully wide ranging palette of colours, portraying coral reefs, tropical fish, dolphins and turtles. I’ve also enjoyed designing feature walls that depict musical, film and sporting legends for home gyms, bar areas and home cinemas.  Whether as a tribute to a respected celebrity, to inspire or to bring a room’s theme to life, these murals are always fun to create and always well-received.  The most unusual commissions I’ve had is when I’ve been asked to customise items such as fridges, horse boxes, lorries, boat and helicopters.  My clients love the personalised nature of mural-creation and have often commented that their uniqueness helps them to add their own individual stamps onto their homes.  The best thing about it is there are no restrictions – everything is possible with a little bit of imagination and skill!

“The most important piece of advice I can offer to clients thinking about getting a mural painted in their home is to ensure that the wall has been professionally prepared by a painter.  Any holes and cracks need to be filled, the wall needs to be sanded and any damp must be dealt with beforehand!  You want your mural to last for as long as you want it so make sure your wall is at its optimal condition.”
