Extreme Receives Design Award Nominations for SBID & IDA
In 2021, Extreme Design celebrated a double award win for the New Art Deco kitchen at The Lake House. One year later, the British design studio has added two new 2022 award nominations to its list of accolades.
In May 2022, the Monolith kitchen was nominated by the International Design & Architecture Awards for the category ‘Kitchen Over £100,000’. One month later, the same project was shortlisted by the prestigious Society of British & International Interior Design Awards in the category KBB Design.

“Awards are vital to our industry, they are a platform to celebrate the new ideas and innovations from leading designers around the world that are shaping the future of design. It is an honour to be nominated once again and for the work of my talented team to be recognised on the international design stage.”

THE PROJECT
This year’s nominated design is an ultra-modern, angular kitchen created for a private home in London. Inspired by geographical features, the client desired a kitchen to compliment the property’s architectural cues and reflect the distinctive concept of volcanic rock formations whilst retaining a warm and welcoming environment for the family.
The scheme features angular shapes, including a monolithic stone island with a floating breakfast bar, hand finished in a contrasting liquid metal copper. The combination of powerful angles alongside the juxtaposition of tactile materials gives this kitchen the commanding presence demanded from a home as unique as this one.
